How Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has changed amiibo AI

We don’t know much about amiibo training at this point, but one thing we do know is that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s AI has been completely overhauled. For one, CPU characters are much more aggressive, and even dash dance as a neutral option. It appears they can utilize somewhat complex combos, though the extent of this is unknown. Furthermore, amiibo are much more proficient in the air, and will actively leave the stage to intercept their opponents’ recoveries.

With the introduction of personality traits, it’s possible that trainers can more easily determine a concrete playstyle for their amiibo. Offensive, defensive, flashy, laid-back, you name it: we may finally have total control over our figure players. Be sure to keep these AI adjustments in mind as you train your amiibo.
