The second Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo tournament has concluded

For the first time ever, a Yoshi amiibo has taken the championship title of an amiibo tournament. Throughout the many years of Smash 4, this hadn’t happened even once. This is Smash Ultimate, and the second-ever tourney has seen a Yoshi claim victory. Things really are different, aren’t they? Congratulations to the winner! If you’re interested in the full matchup data, check out our official tournament records. Here’s a silly (and wildly inaccurate) tier list based on results from these two competitions.

Don’t take this list as fact. It’s more of a sum-up of recent tourney trends and results than an actual tier list. In reality, there is no “tier list” yet, and there won’t be for a long time. Fighters like Dr. Mario and Robin were only entered once, and lost their first match, so that’s why they’re at the bottom. Doesn’t mean they’re weak by any means.

Anyway, our next tournament takes place soon. It’ll allow Spirits for the first time, so we’ll see what kind of trends they bring to the table. For more information, join our Discord server and enter the #tournaments channel. It’ll likely take place after Christmas, so those of you who are currently without a Switch may have a chance to compete. Until then!
