Character Tips: Greninja

This guide is outdated. It will be updated in the near future with new information and a fresher, smoother format. Thanks for your understanding!

It’s been a few days since I’ve posted. It’s been too busy over here between work and school, so my apologies. Today we’re going to be covering Greninja as our next entry of character tips. Greninja is one of the newest characters on the Super Smash Bros. roster, making his debut in Pokemon X & Y, which was released in 2013. Greninja is known for its blistering speed and ability Protean, which causes its type to change to the type of the move it uses, giving it great versatility. Greninja made a splash in the Pokemon metagame in late 2014 – it dominated the entire tier to the point where it’d be on any team – the scarved frog was so prominent that if you weren’t using it, you’d lose. Many players found Greninja to be cheap and overpowered, and the word “cheap” describes its amiibo quite well.

Character Guide: Yoshi

This guide is outdated. It will be updated in the near future with new information and a fresher, smoother format. Thanks for your understanding!

Yoshi is a friendly green dinosaur native to the aptly-named Yoshi’s Island. Since his debut in Super Mario World for the SNES, Yoshi’s helped Mario and co. foil the evil Bowser’s world-domination plans. He’s also appeared in some games of his own, including Yoshi’s Story and Yoshi’s Woolly World. As with every character in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, Yoshi has received his own amiibo figure. Rank: D | US Release Date: 5/29/15 | Exclusive to: N/A | Group: Erratic

Back in January, we had a big Nintendo Direct broadcast. It revealed to us The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars…oh, and the New Nintendo 3DS XL. I didn’t care about any of that. When I saw Bill Trinen (who’s a Nintendo staffer who was hosting that part of the broadcast) announce a new wave of amiibo, Pac-Man caught my eye. This was when my addiction to collecting amiibo truly began. After the direct was over, there were a lot of questions that went unanswered. Would any of Wave 4 be exclusive? When were they coming out? I set up an auto-refresher on Amazon.com and continuously searched for any opportunity to buy Pac-Man. Five months later, I went out to GameStop and found one. This was release day – May 29th. I was so excited to train Pac-Man. I had grown up playing the Pac-Man World games. Well, I was met with disappointment. Good thing I played EarthBound in March and got Ness too! Continue reading Character Guide: Pac-Man

Welcome!

Hey there guys, I’ve spent the last week or so creating a new site. Whereas the other site had forums and was generally not well received, I’ve made a new site where I’ll regularly post amiibo training updates. You can expect me to update the site with new articles each week that will hopefully help you in training your amiibo.

To celebrate the launch of the new website, I’ve added 3 other articles that you haven’t seen before: two amiibo training tips and guides, and the first of a new series of character-specific amiibo guides. I’ve learned that there really is no surefire way to train an amiibo: there’s not one guide that works best on every character. For that reason, I won’t be posting the same kinds of guides here that I used to post on reddit: I’m going to be posting character-specific guides and nothing else. With that said, I hope you enjoy the new site!
